Kayseri
Erciyes Ski Resort is on Mount Erciyes, an inactive volcano about 25 km south of Kayseri. The summit, at 3,916 m, is the highest point in Central Anatolia. The ski area covers the northern and eastern slopes, with its base at about 2,100 m on the Tekir Plateau.
The resort has four entrances: Tekir, Hacılar, Hisarcık and Develi. According to the operator, 18 lifts serve the slopes, two of them gondolas. Hotels stand on the mountain; many Kayseri hotels arrange transport for day skiers. Outside the snow season, the operator publishes mountain-bike and trekking maps, and hiking routes lead from the lifts towards the summit area.
The drive from Kayseri city centre or Kayseri Airport takes about 20–40 minutes. Cappadocia is about an hour away. The tourism ministry gives late November to late April as the best skiing season. Walking at 2,100 m and above is more tiring than at sea level, so plan an easy first day.
