Köprülü Canyon National Park

Köprülü Canyon National Park

Köprülü Canyon National Park is in the Manavgat district of Antalya province. It was declared a national park in 1973. The Köprüçay river has cut a canyon about 14 km long between the villages of Bolasan and Beşkonak. Its walls rise to about 100 m.

The Roman Oluk Bridge crosses the canyon on a single stone arch. It and the nearby Büğrüm Bridge carried the old stone road that linked the city of Selge with the Pamphylian coast. The ruins of Selge, with a theatre and an agora, are reached by the road across the bridge. The park also protects about 400 hectares of natural Mediterranean cypress forest. The Köprüçay is one of Türkiye's main rafting rivers.

On the Antalya–Manavgat highway, turn north about 5 km after Serik, then drive about 37 km. Entry to the national park is free. The rock around the bridge is uneven, so wear firm shoes.
